Financing and Deploying Clean Energy

Alex is an Asset Manager, Renewable Energy Investments at The D. E. Shaw Group. A graduate of the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of the Environment, he is passionate about the environment and committed to playing a role in the fight against climate change.

At Yale, Alex served as the Student Program Manager for the Clean Energy Finance Forum as well as the Course Manager for Renewable Energy Project Finance with Yale's Certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy. His work focused on addressing the financial challenges and opportunities involving renewable energy.

Alex spent the 2019 summer at JPMorgan Chase & Co on their Energy & Sustainability Team as an EDF Climate Corps Fellow. He worked on several projects aligned with the organization’s strategic renewable energy initiative that included evaluating onsite distributed energy generation, power purchase agreements, and energy storage projects. Prior to Yale, Alex was an Environmental Engineer for the U.S. Army.

Alex is a LEED Accredited Professional, Project Management Professional, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds a degree in Engineering Management with a focus in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys exploring this world with his wife and three children.
